The new F1 season is just round the corner. Oh happy days.
Only joking, I don’t mind the “roundy roundy stuff” (as quoted by PWRC champ Martin Rowe don’t you know). Well, I like the beginning and the end and the odd crash here and there livens things up.
I normally just end up screaming bloody murder at the tv begging for a bit of excitement.
As per usual a new season looming got me thinking what makes rallying so much better than Formula One. So here’s my ideas on the matter. The list obviously could go on and on so I’ll post my ideas in posts every now and again rather than bombarding you all with rant after rant.
We rally fans don’t follow the sport like sheep, we don’t jump on the bandwagon Lewis Hamilton-stylie. We are fans because we’re fans and always have been.
Our drivers can do this:
Simply amazing.
The WRC takes place in real conditions, on real roads, in real weather and in relatively real looking cars. Our drivers take stages and have to deal with the most changeable of conditions and surfaces but as soon as there is even the hint of rain on an F1 circuit you get the same old same old – just stop with all the whinging, get out there and just learn how to drive properly on your poncy manufactured circuits!
What a LEGEND
We have this man. Our so-called Schumacher. He wins championships and breaks record after record WITHOUT having to resort to team tactics and cheating on the final round of the season.
Fancy that
I’ll mouth off about him ’til the end of time because he’s bored me to high heaven sometimes, but, this is a big deal for me admitting this, he’s bloody brilliant.
He’s got manners too, always an advantage in my books.
